1. National Engineering Technology Centers

National Silicone Engineering Technology Research Center

Hosted by Bluestar Chengrand Chemical Research Institute, the National Silicone Engineering Technology Research Center is mainly engaged in the R&D and production of various silicone monomers, focused on silicone polymers and their processing in its research efforts, and targeted at systematic development, support and engineering of lab results. Its research outcomes involve various segments of the silicone industry including monomers, polymers, post-processing technologies, applied technologies, and dedicated equipment for industrial manufacturing.

National Research Center of Force Structure Plastics Engineering Technology

Hosted by Bluestar Chengrand Chemical Research Institute, the National Research Center of Force Structure Plastics Engineering Technology has long been engaged in the R&D of linear saturated polyester and polyether engineering plastics. It has a large number of engineered research outcomes. It specializes in high-performance materials and high-precision plastic products needed for the melt polycondensation and polymerization of high-temperature, highly vacuum, and high-viscosity materials. In engineering, the research center achieves strong synergy between hardware and software, designs and produces dedicated equipment for the synthesis and processing of engineering plastics. Thanks to its host, the research center boasts sound foundations for R&D in terms of physical and chemical analysis, property test, and intelligence.

National Liquid Film Engineering Technology Center

Hosted by Hangzhou Water Treatment Technology Research Center, the National Liquid Film Engineering Technology Center specializes in the R&D and application of liquid film technologies. With a team led by academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, it boasts strong technical competence, is equipped with the four mainstream technologies of electrodialysis, reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, and microfiltration, and has developed products that are widely in use in the seawater and brackish water desalination, industrial water softening, ultrapure water preparation, and drinking water purification, as well as chemical separation, condensation, purification, and waste water treatment.

National Environment Protection Film Engineering Technology Center

Hosted by Bluestar Environment Engineering Co., Ltd., the National Environment Protection Film Engineering Technology Center is mainly engaged in research activities of film manufacturing and relevant system integration engineering aimed at drinking water purification, industrial waste water treatment, and deep treatment for sewage reuse. It carries out model projects, participates in the formulation of technical policies and standards related to environment protection, promotes the application of film technologies in relevant fields, and provides technical support and services for the environment management, monitoring, and decision making of the country.

3. National Laboratories

National Testing and Identification Agency

National Agency for Identifying Physical Risks of Chemicals.Hosted by Guangzhou Synthetic Materials Research Institute, it is one of the first agencies authorized by China’s State Administration of Work Safety for identifying physical risk of chemicals and the only testing organization that has gained such qualifications in South China. It may provide appraisal reports on physical risks of chemicals, cargo transportation conditions and specialized chemical safety reports including MSDS. It has been providing governments and supervision departments for work safety at all levels with specialized technical support, providing dangerous chemical production and trading companies with convenient, specialized and high-quality identification and professional consultation services for registration and transportation of chemicals and providing professional and targeted training and guidance.

Laboratory for Industrial Product Quality Control and Technical Evaluation (Plastics and Chemical New Materials)

Hosted by Bluestar Chengrand Chemical Research Institute Co., Ltd., the laboratory is dedicated to the quality control, material testing, and test method research for special-purpose fibers, resins, plastics, and their products as well as rubbers. It tests the mechanical, electrical, thermal, physical, and chemical properties of different materials and analyzes the structures and composition of them. The laboratory has highly capable test staff and advanced equipment, has long been engaged in research activities of material testing methods, led or participated in the formulation of many national and industrial standards, and accumulated rich experience and data concerning the chemical industry and new materials.

Laboratory for Industrial Product Quality Control and Technical Evaluation (Chemical Minerals)

Hosted by Bluestar Lehigh Engineering Institute, the laboratory is engaged in the analysis and testing of chemical and mental minerals, as well as relevant training and national standard formulation and revision. The laboratory has highly capable test staff and advanced equipment. It measures over 100 parameters of the mineral contents of phosphate, pyrite, potassium (including potassium feldspar), pinakiolite, celestite, limestone, serpentine, alunite, quartz, and other chemical ores, analyzes the contents of multiple elements in iron, chrome, manganese, lead, zinc, and nickel ores, as well as in fertilizers and water. It has long been engaged in research in the test methods for chemical ores, led the formulation of various national and industrial standards, formulated and revised the national standards for 26 chemical ores including phosphate, pyrite, potassium, and boron. So far, it has formulated and revised a total of 45 national standards and 44 industrial standards, and accumulated rich experience and data concerning chemical ore testing.

Laboratory for Industrial Product Quality Control and Technical Evaluation (Synthetic Material Aging)

Hosted by Guangzhou Synthetic Materials Research Institute, the laboratory is mainly engaged in the test of physical and anti-aging properties of high polymer materials (plastics, rubbers, fibers, paints, and adhesives), estimates and evaluates the life of materials under different storage or working conditions, detects hazardous matters, odor, and total volatiles in high polymer materials (plastics, rubbers, fibers, paints, and adhesives), and analyzes qualitatively and quantitatively the main materials. It also determines the danger level of dangerous goods and prepares MSDS for chemicals based on the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods Manual of Tests and Criteria.
